50% transport reduction: FG adds South West routes + Video of commuters boarding, new routes
The Federal Government has added more routes in the South West to its 50 percent rebate on transportation during the Yuletide.
The Eagle Online obtained the new routes on Friday, with the departure times and video of commuters benefitting from it.
According to the schedule, the new routes covers Lagos to Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, and Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The routes are being operated by the National Union of Road Transport Workers from the bus terminal in Oshodi, Lagos State as seen in the video of commuters who had a refund given to them after paying the full fare to Akure.
Instead of the regular N6,500 fare, the commuters were refunded N3,250 each.
The Eagle Online recalls that the Federal Government had on Wednesday announced a 50 percent reduction in transport fares to major routes in the country, with the bus lines to be used also released.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Lake, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Alake said President Bola Tinubu gave the approval.
