The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone ‘A’ Headquarters has trained senior officers to instill a culture of excellent leadership and service delivery in them.
Speaking at the training, which took place at the Customs Training College, Ikeja, the Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘A’ Lagos, Bello Mohammed Jibo, emphasised that the training was aimed at addressing the top-level leaders, initiating successful planning to prepare emerging leaders for top-level positions in line with the Controller General of Customs vision for the service.
He encouraged the participants to view their roles as opportunities to make a positive impact rather than merely occupying a title.
The lead training coordinator of Eloquence Hub, Mr. Ibereayo Amoo, took the participants through sessions on leadership traits, values of a leader, problem- solving and value creation.
The training session successfully conveyed the message that leadership is about action, responsibility, and a commitment to excellence, while the participants engaged in sharing diverse perspectives, creating a collaborative and open learning environment.
The Deputy Comptroller of Enforcement in the Zone, Doris Tiyatiye, stressed the importance of the training, noting that the interactive nature of the session allowed for meaningful exchanges, creating an atmosphere conducive to personal and professional development.
She commended the zonal coordinator for creating the platform, adding that the participants left the session with a renewed focus on their roles as leaders within the Nigeria Customs Service, understanding the need to create positive impacts and contribute to the solutions their roles demand.
