Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority on Christmas Day rescued a drunk driver who rammed into a road median at CMS inward outer Marina area of Lagos State.
The spokesman of the traffic agency, Adebayo Taofiq, confirmed the early morning accident on Monday in a statement.
Taofiq said the driver of a Volkswagen Space bus with registration number AAW 56 AA rammed into the road median at top speed and got trapped.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the Volkswagen Space bus lost control and rammed into the road media as a result of excessive intake of alcohol.
Immediately the accident happened, LASTMA personnel working around CMS outer Marina rushed to the accident scene and rescued the driver who was later rushed to Odan General Hospital for medical treatment.

Policemen from Lion Building provided security backup while LASTMA personnel recovered the trapped vehicle off the median to enable free vehicular movement inward outer Marina.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Bakare Oki, who was on a monitoring tour with the top management of the Agency, visited the accident scene and appealed to the motoring public not to drink while driving and to obey all traffic regulations in order to ensure safety.
