Troops of 8 Division, Nigerian Army, in conjunction with operatives of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and local vigilantes, have successfully rescued four kidnapped persons and recovered arms and ammunition.
This comes after the troops raided the terrorists’ camp.
The Assistant Acting Director of Army Public Relations 1 Brigade Gusau, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, in a statement on Tuesday, said the operation was conducted in the identified terrorists’ hideout at Sabon Gari Village in Shanga LGA of Kebbi state.

Captain Ibrahim said during the operation, troops neutralized one of the terrorists and extricated four kidnap victims.
“The troops also recovered three AK 47 rifles, three magazines, 142 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and two pairs of camouflage uniforms,” he said.
The Army spokesperson said all the rescued victims who are four males have since been reunited with their families, while troops continued to trail the wounded and fleeing terrorists.
