University sanctions female students for defecating, taking their bath in open areas
The Management of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Kano State said it imposed a N3,000 fine on some students for polluting the campus environment.
The students were accused of having defecated at Block E Hostel and poured water in a campus restricted area.
The Dean, Students Affairs, Prof. Abdulqadir Dambazau, told newsmen in Wudil that henceforth students found violating the institution’s rules and regulations would be sanctioned.
He explained that the sanction was imposed on 10 of the 60 students in the block due to their inability to observe environmental rules and regulations of the institution.
Prof. Dambazau said the female students were fond of defecating in the open space around the environment, while others bathed in the open.

He added: “Whosoever violates such rules would be warned twice, and if it persists, will be forced to pay N3,000 penalty.”
The students population is about 24,000, while the hostels have capacity for only 5,400 in terms of facilities.
