The Kano State Government has stopped the Bichi Emirate Council from turbaning Salisu Ado Bayero as a District Head.
The order stopping the turbaning of the brother of the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero, was contained in a letter.
The letter, addressed to the Secretary of Bichi Emirate Council was signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ibrahim M. Kabara, on behalf of the Deputy Governor and Overseeing Commissioner of the ministry, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam.

It said in part: “Reference to the communication received from you via a letter with reference number Bichi/EM/Adm/018/Vol III/167 with the above caption dated 2nd February 2024. I am instructed to convey the government’s directives to suspend the exercise due to exigencies at the moment.”
The turbaning of Salisu, the younger brother of the Emir, was fixed for March 1.
