Firm restates commitment to empowering female employees
Sundry Foods Limited (SFL) has reassured its commitment to creating an inclusive work environment that empowers and uplifts female employees.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, SFL, Ebele Enunwa, stated this while addressing female employees of the company in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in commemoration of the 2024 International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration.
He restated the company’s unwavering dedication to gender equality and expressed its belief in diversity and inclusion as essential for success and innovation.
Enunwa said women consistently represent the largest employee resource in the over 180 branches of the company nationwide.
According to Enunwa, the company will stop at nothing to inspire, connect and empower women in its employ until they achieve their full potential.
On how the organisation intends to achieve that, the SFL boss said women would be supported and encouraged to pursue career initiatives designed for their personal and professional growth.
Enunwa recognised the challenges that women face at some moments in their lives that threaten the pursuit of their future dreams and aspirations.
He, however, admonished them not to allow circumstances and situations that may come their way to derail the achievement of their full potential in life.
Enunwa urged women who take to resigning from their jobs shortly after they start a family, to consider other options such as requesting transfers closer to their loved ones or taking extended breaks from work during the most difficult periods as the situation warrants.
Similarly, the SFL boss said women should not see childbearing phase of their lives as a threat to achieving their full potential, but should rather see it as a temporary phase in their journey of life that will be over someday.
He assured the female employees of the company’s commitment to accommodate and encourage them in whatever circumstances and situations they may face.
