The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Tuesday sworn-in 21 local government administrators and charged them to stay close to their people at the grassroots.
Recall the governor dissolved all the elected chairmen of the 21 LGs of the state and their secretaries last month.
This followed the expiration of their tenure on February 5.
Governor Idris, while speaking at the inauguration held at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, charged the new administrators to avoid leaving their local areas to the state capital, adding that their diligence at work would justify the confidence reposed in them.
He added that the new set of LG administrators are a mix of both the experienced and young politicians as a way to ensure that the young learn from the seasoned politicians.
He said: “As leaders, I want you to stay with your people instead of leaving them and moving to the state capital.
“I urge you to work hard, do your work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in you.

“Remember, I promised that my administration will go with both experienced (old) politicians as well as the young (youths), this combination you are seeing today is in fulfilment of my promise.
“I want the old, experienced and seasoned politicians to groom the young ones because they are our future leaders.”
Responding on behalf of other administrators, the Sole Administrator of Birnin Kebbi, Dahiru Nayaya-Ambursa, assured the governor of continued support for the success of his administration.
