Two-time MMA world champion, Loveth Patra, unveils celebrity concert

Two-time kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) world champion, Loveth Patra-Ekufu, who is also a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), has unveiled a celebrity concert aimed at promoting community engagement.

Fondly called ‘the Nigerian Terminator,’ Patra-Ekufu disclosed at the weekend that the project would hold between November 29 and December 3, 2024.

The event tagged ‘Celebrity Global Fight Concert,’ according to her, will provide a platform for sports enthusiasts, high-profile individuals and top celebrities from different professions to connect and network.

She said that the concert would equally feature international celebrity boxing/wrestling entertainment fights and amateur combat sports displays; face of Celebrity Global Beauty Pageant, Celebrity Global Impact Award 2024 (CGIA), live music, celebrity global fashion show and live comedy.

“We intend to create an impact in the community and educate people that MMA is not just about fighting. As martial artistes, we are born with discipline, and as you know, everything in life is about discipline if you want to go far.

“You can’t just go to the streets to fight because you are a kickboxer; that is why we are creating this event to ensure we have a free crime environment.

“The event is open to everybody; it is open to the general public. The admission is free of charge, those that are qualified will be brought in the grand finale,” she said.

Also speaking on the event, Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria President, Okon Godwin, said: “We profile women and bring them into limelight. We are looking for what will benefit them and the society. We want to take them out of crime and prostitution. But our campaign is not just for the female gender, men are also considered in what we do.”

In his reaction, Vice President, Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Zaaky Azzay, congratulated the Nigeria Police for giving Patra-Ekufu a platform develop her talent.
