Okocha elected APC chairman in Rivers

Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected Tony Okocha as its party Chairman.

Okocha was elected during a delegate congress conducted through voice vote and presided by Dr Adoye Omale who represented the party’s national secretariat.

Other elected positions during the state delegates congress were the Deputy Chairman of the party, the State Secretary, the Publicity Secretary, the State Auditor, the State women leader, the Youth leader, the legal advisor, and zonal leaders of the party in the four senatorial districts of the State. They are to pilot the affairs of the party in the next four years.

The new chairman, Okocha, in his acceptance speech, vowed that the APC  in Rivers State is set to take over Rivers State Government in 2027.

He said his election has silenced critics who think the party is not united and cannot conduct a peaceful election.

He scored President Bola Ahmed Tinubu high especially with the resumption of production of petroleum products at the Port Harcourt Refinery, assuring that the party will do more to pave the way to win all the elections in Rivers State.

The party’s National Vice Chairman, South-South, Chief Victor Giadom,  commended the party delegates for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves during the state delegate congress.

He stated that the peaceful conduct of the state delegates congress showed that the APC in Rivers state is a united and indivisible party.

He called on the members of the party to support the new executive of the party.

The state delegate congress was supervised by the state resident electoral commissioner, Dr Joseph Alalibo.
