The Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd.), has warned that any candidate caught attempting to bribe or compromise the ongoing admission process into the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano will be immediately disqualified.
He gave the warning during a visit to the academy, where he led a delegation to oversee the 2024 post-JAMB admission screening.
According to him, the admission exercise must be conducted with integrity, fairness, and respect for equity.
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani.
Ani said the chairman warned candidates against engaging in unethical practices, stating, “Any candidate negotiating to pay money for consideration should be weeded out. The process must run on merit and transparency.
“The PSC Chairman said the Commission will ensure the Academy is run on merit and fairness and that accountability and Transparency must be their watchword.”
Argungu also inspected various facilities at the academy, including the Moot Court, Clinic, Library, Lecture Theatres and screening centres.
The statement further disclosed that the PSC chairman, during the inspection, noted some complaints about malfunctioning computers and directed immediate rectification to ensure a smooth screening exercise.
It added that Argungu lauded the academy’s leadership, particularly its commandant, AIG Abubakar Sadiq.
He also praised the innovative measures implemented for the screening process, including the use of computer-based testing
