The management of Inland Containers Nigeria Limited (ICNL) has commended its outgoing Managing Director, Ismail Yusuf Adekola, and the outgoing Manager of the Kaduna Inland Dry Port (KIDP), Rotimi Raimi-Hassan, for establishing a reliable and efficient logistics hub that continues to serve the northern region.

At a retirement party to honour the leaders, the new Managing Director of ICNL, Omotayo Dada, described their careers as a definition of excellence, innovation and unwavering dedication.

He noted that both individuals’ over 30 years of career at the company was particularly marked by significant transformation and visionary leadership. Dada highlighted Adekola’s major contributions, which include modernising ICNL’s operations to meet global logistics standards, spearheading the establishment and successful operation of KIDP, and implementing robust and transparent financial systems.

He also credited Adekola with expanding infrastructure, enhancing ICNL’s national presence through depot and logistics development, building strong internal teams, nurturing leadership within the organisation and representing the company on national and international platforms to influence policy and regulatory frameworks.

Dada further outlined Raimi-Hassan’s achievements, which include streamlining logistics, warehousing, and container handling processes across ICNL locations, contributing to internal policy formulation and strategic planning and leading the integration of ICT systems that transformed port operations and documentation.

He highlighted other notable contributions by Raimi-Hassan, including mentoring and training staff, many of whom now hold leadership positions within the industry, promoting a culture of continuous learning, and establishing core systems and partnerships that have significantly enhanced ICNL’s service delivery.

“As we mark the close of an era, we do not merely bid farewell to a Managing Director; we celebrate a legacy of vision, purpose, and lasting impact. His influence on ICNL and the wider industry will endure for generations,” Dada stated.
