NITDA Reaffirms Commitment to GEF with MoU Renewal in Ghana

A significant moment at the GEF Business Mixer in Accra was the renewal of the strategic partnership between the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF).
Dr. Aristotle Onumu, representing the Director General of NITDA, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to nurturing Africa’s tech-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem. The signing of the new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizes a strengthened collaboration framework designed to support digital startups, foster innovation, and enhance Africa’s position in the global technology economy.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Summy Smart Francis, Project Lead for GEF, emphasized that partnerships like the one with NITDA are crucial for transforming Nigeria’s “pregnant ideas” into tangible, scalable solutions that can revolutionize industries and communities.
The renewed MoU lays the groundwork for deeper engagement between the public and private sectors, ensuring that GEF 2025 serves as a launchpad for the next generation of Nigerian tech entrepreneurs.
The GEF is the largest entrepreneurship event in the world, scheduled to take place from November 21 to 23. This year’s theme is titled: “THE AI ENTREPRENEUR: Creating a Sustainable Future.”
