MfB deepens financial inclusion with new branch

Accion Microfinance Bank has reinforced its commitment to grassroots financial inclusion with the launch of its 74th branch in Ilorin, Kwara state, bringing essential banking services closer to thousands of underserved individuals and small businesses in the region.

The new branch, located at Abdul-Azeez Attah Road, was formally unveiled in a ceremony attended by key stakeholders, community leaders, customers and bank officials.

Speaking at the opening, Managing Director of Accion MfB, Taiwo Joda, said the expansion was part of the bank’s strategic efforts to grow its retail footprint and deliver personalised, value-driven services tailored to meet the needs of its diverse customer base.

He also emphasised that through a customer-centric approach and value-oriented services, Accion MfB is coming from a position of knowledge and experience, which allows the bank to effectively address customers’ banking needs by providing personalized solutions.

Joda noted that the Ilorin branch would serve as a hub for affordable loans, savings, and secure digital transactions, enabling local traders, artisans, and micro-entrepreneurs to unlock new growth opportunities.

“The new branch features state-of-the-art facilities designed for convenience, security, and efficiency. Customers can access a wide range of services, including business and personal loans, savings, fast and secure digital banking, and dedicated customer support.

“With this development, customers around the axis now have another convenient location for their transactions to enjoy further the value-added offerings which the Bank has been known for since its establishment 19 years ago,” he added.

Ahead of the branch launch, Accion MfB conducted a two-day community engagement drive across major markets in Ilorin, including Agaka, Oja Tuntun, Taiwo Road and Mandate, aimed at interacting with residents and creating awareness about its services.

The new outlet boasts modern facilities and dedicated support staff, providing a seamless banking experience for users. With nearly two decades of operation, Accion MfB continues to deliver on its promise of empowering communities through inclusive financial services that foster economic resilience and growth.
