An aspirant vying for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the August 8, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Oyebamiji, has donated N2 million to persons with disabilities association.
Oyebamiji, the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), made the donation on Thursday in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
This was at the anniversary of Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Ile-Ife chapter.
The anniversary was held at Oba Okunade Sijuwade Memorial City Hall, Enuwa, Ile-Ife.
The NIWA boss, represented by Timothy Owoeye, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, promised to pay particular attention to people living with disabilities in the state if elected.
Speaking at the event, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, while rejoicing with JONAPWD on this year’s anniversary, appreciated them for their roles in the society.
Ooni, who was represented by Ade Olaoluwa, promised to always give helping hands to JONAPWD.
Speaking, Prophet Elijah Fagbule of the Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Oke-Atan, Ile-Ife urged JONAPWD members to always encourage themselves.
The cleric, represented by Paul Olanrewaju, charged them to continue to have a strong and abiding faith in God.
Rev. Canon Leye Onitiju of Obawole’s Chapel, Anglican Communion, Bishop’s Court, Parakin, Ile-Ife said that God has never forgotten people with disabilities as they are doing well in all spheres of life.
