Bishop confirms release of Niger schoolchildren, teachers

The Bishop of Kontagora Diocese and Proprietor of St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School, Papiri, Niger State, Most Rev. Bulus Yohanna, has confirmed the release of the abducted schoolchildren and their teachers of the school.
This was contained in a statement issued by the media aide to the Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Dan Atori, on Sunday.
Atori quoted Yohanna as having said that Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State called him a few minutes before the statement was issued to confirm the release of the children and teachers.
He added, however, that the number of those released “was not mentioned as they are expected in Minna tomorrow (Monday) and to be received by the Governor” in the Government House.
