Voting commenced on schedule at Polling Unit 18, Post Office, in the Abuja Municipal Area Council on Saturday as residents turned out to participate in the Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections.

The exercise began at exactly 9:05 a.m. after electoral officials concluded the pasting of the voter register and party agents completed verification of details on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.

Our correspondent observed a smooth process, with the BVAS machines functioning effectively and voters being accredited without difficulty.

Security personnel are visibly present to maintain order and safeguard electoral materials.

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Nigeria Correctional Service are deployed to the area to ensure a peaceful voting environment.
