The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Tunji Odeyemi, has intensified its call for change, declaring that residents across the state are united in their demand for a new direction ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
In a statement released on Monday, the party said momentum is building across the North, South, and Central senatorial districts, with citizens increasingly calling for liberation, freedom, and genuine transformation in the “Fountain of Knowledge.”
The PDP described its gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, as the embodiment of the change the people desire, noting that he enjoys widespread acceptance across political, social, and demographic lines. The party highlighted his independence, boldness, and intellectual capacity as key qualities that position him to lead Ekiti State to greater heights.
“The time has come to break free from mental slavery and reject the era of godfatherism. Ekiti people deserve purposeful leadership that prioritizes development, inclusiveness, and sustainable progress,” the statement read.
As part of its mobilization drive, the party announced a mega rally tagged “Restoration of Ekiti,” scheduled as follows:

The PDP called on residents from all walks of life to turn out in large numbers, describing the rally as a defining moment in the journey to reclaim and reposition the state.
“Come one, come all, and be part of this historic movement for transformation,” the statement concluded.
