Gunmen Raid Church in Kwara, Abduct Worshippers as Security Forces Rescue Three

Suspected bandits have launched an attack on an ECWA church in the Omugo community of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, abducting several worshippers during Sunday service.
The early morning assault triggered panic among residents and congregants as the gunmen stormed the church premises and forcefully took away a number of victims.
A local source disclosed that at least seven people were kidnapped in the incident, though full details are still emerging.
Security operatives, however, responded swiftly to the attack, successfully rescuing three of the abducted individuals.
The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, confirmed the incident and praised the joint efforts of security personnel, forest guards, and local vigilantes in containing the situation.
She noted that their prompt response not only led to the rescue of some victims but also helped repel the attackers.
Olukoju further stated that security agencies have been directed to intensify operations to secure the release of the remaining victims and bring those responsible to justice.
