*Lagos DSVA Takes Swift Action in Festac Domestic Violence Case, Suspect Remanded*

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has responded to a widely circulated video on social media involving a survivor of alleged domestic violence identified as @anniesglowlagos on TikTok.
Upon becoming aware of the incident, the Agency promptly established contact with the survivor and ensured the case was formally reported to the appropriate authorities. Preliminary findings confirm that the incident occurred on Saturday, 21 March 2026, and was reported at the FESTAC Police Station Tactical Squad. The matter is currently being handled by the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the station.
According to reports, the survivor alleged that her estranged partner physically assaulted her, resulting in severe injuries, including the loss of a finger. The alleged perpetrator has since been apprehended, and the case has been thoroughly investigated by law enforcement authorities.
On 25 March 2026, the case was charged to court at Court 6, MBA Ajegunle. The accused has been remanded at Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centre pending further proceedings. Bail was granted in the sum of ₦200,000 with two sureties, while the next hearing has been scheduled for 29 April 2026.
The survivor has also been referred for psychosocial support to aid her recovery and overall well-being.
The Lagos State Government reiterates its zero tolerance for all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and urges members of the public to speak up and report all incidents.
