The Kuwait Ministry of Defence says several United States military aircraft crashed on Monday morning in the Gulf country.
In a statement, a defence ministry spokesperson confirmed the “complete safety” of the crew members involved, although the cause of the incident has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities did not specify the number of aircraft involved or how many personnel were on board.
According to the statement, search and rescue teams evacuated the crew and transferred them to a hospital for medical attention.
The ministry described the condition of the crew members as “stable”.
“Concerned authorities are following up on the investigations to determine the causes of the incident,” the statement added.
Earlier, a video circulating on social media showed a fighter jet engulfed in flames before crashing near a US air base in Kuwait.
While the origin of the aircraft was initially unclear, a CNN analysis indicated that the twin-engine jet resembled a US F-15E Strike Eagle. The pilot was seen ejecting and landing safely.
Iran later claimed responsibility for bringing down the aircraft.
The crash comes amid escalating hostilities between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other.
So far, three US soldiers have been killed and five others injured since the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran began on Saturday.
US President Donald Trump has vowed to avenge the deaths, while cautioning that further casualties may occur before the conflict concludes.
