Silent Powerhouse: How Kunle Soname Built a Multi-Million Dollar Empire Across Betting, Aviation, and Football

Nigerian businessman and politician, Kunle Soname, continues to stand out as one of the country’s most influential yet low-profile entrepreneurs, with strategic investments spanning gaming, aviation, and international football.

A former Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Government Area in Lagos State, Soname is the founder of Bet9ja, one of Nigeria’s leading betting platforms, and the owner of ValueJet, a growing private airline.

His business portfolio, which also includes hospitality and real estate, has reportedly generated significant revenues, with estimates placing parts of his operations at over $100 million in monthly turnover prior to 2025.
Beyond business, Soname has carved a niche in football development, owning multiple clubs across Nigeria and Europe.

These include Remo Stars F.C., Beyond Limits F.A., and Portuguese side C.D. Feirense.
Through these platforms, he has established a talent pipeline that nurtures young Nigerian players and connects them to international opportunities. In recent years, the system has produced notable transfers, including Ebenezer Akinsanmiro’s move to Inter Milan Primavera for €466,000 in 2023, and the transfer of Shola Ogundana to CR Flamengo for $500,000 in 2024.

Despite his expansive influence across industries, Soname maintains a notably low public profile, rarely engaging in social media discourse.

Analysts say this quiet approach reflects a focus on long-term value creation, institutional investment, and sustainable growth rather than public attention.

His trajectory underscores a broader narrative in Nigeria’s business landscape—where some of the most impactful figures operate beyond the spotlight, shaping industries through strategy rather than visibility.
