Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after celebrating Eid-el-Fitr in Lagos, following his recent state visit to the United Kingdom.
The development was confirmed on Wednesday in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, “President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday departed Lagos for Abuja after marking the Eid-el-Fitri, following his historic state visit to the United Kingdom.”
It added that “his plane left the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at 6.44 pm.”
The president had earlier returned to Nigeria from the UK on Friday and joined Muslim faithful for Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks.
During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu held a series of high-level meetings, receiving 23 state governors, including Biodun Oyebanji.
He also met with prominent business figure Aliko Dangote, a European Union delegation, and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council.
The statement further revealed that Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Lagos to brief the president on his recent trip to Borno State following a suicide bombing incident.
Among those present at the president’s departure were Dapo Abiodun, former governor Olusegun Osoba, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, alongside other top government officials and party leaders.
