Nigerian carrier, ValueJet, has announced concluding plans to commence direct flight operations between Lagos and Accra, with its inaugural service scheduled for 30 March, as part of efforts to deepen regional connectivity across West Africa.
The airline disclosed that daily flights on the Lagos–Accra–Lagos route will depart from the new terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 8:00am, while return flights from Accra to Lagos are scheduled for 9:00am. The airline made this known through a statement made available to journalists on Monday.
Passengers, according to the airline, can begin booking for the service through its official website.
The launch of the Accra route marks another milestone in ValueJet’s regional expansion drive, coming on the heels of its successful international operations to Banjul, The Gambia. The airline also hinted at plans to extend its network to other West African destinations, including Cotonou and Malabo.
Speaking on the development, the Managing Director of ValueJet, Omololu Majekodunmi, described the Accra route as a strategic move aimed at strengthening regional air connectivity and economic integration.
Majekodunmi said, “We are thrilled to commence our regional service with the inaugural flight between Lagos and Accra, slated for 30 March 2026. This is a significant step for ValueJet as we expand our network beyond Nigeria and across the African continent.”
He noted that the new route is expected to play a crucial role in boosting tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and Ghana.
He explained, “With this new route, we aim to enhance connectivity between Nigeria and Ghana, fostering tourism, trade, and tighter economic and cultural ties.

Majekodunmi further expressed optimism about the broader economic impact of the service, noting that it would open up new opportunities for businesses and individuals across the region.

To support its growing network, the airline recently inducted a CRJ-1000 aircraft into its fleet, a move it said would strengthen both its regional and domestic operations.
As part of efforts to attract passengers, ValueJet said travellers on the new route would benefit from promotional offers, exclusive fares, and special travel packages designed to make the service more appealing.
The airline also assured passengers of a seamless travel experience, citing its reputation for quality service and its collaboration with the Ghana Airports Company Limited.
