Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, has demanded that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State tender an unreserved apology to the state’s civil servants before attempting to regain power in the 2026 governorship election.
In a strongly worded press statement issued yesterday, Olajengbesi described the recent reaction by the Osun APC, signed by Mr Kola Olabisi, to his interview on Rave FM as “empty, shallow, and lacking in substance.”
He accused the opposition party of resorting to diversionary tactics, distortion of facts, and personal attacks instead of addressing the genuine concerns of the people.

Olajengbesi argued that the visible transformation and renewed public confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration have unsettled the APC, whose time in office was marked by hardship, stagnation, and administrative uncertainty.
He called on the APC to provide a clear account of its stewardship, particularly explaining the economic difficulties, institutional decline, and governance failures that characterised its years in power.
Civil servants, he noted, suffered greatly under the previous APC government, with inconsistent salary payments, neglect of retirees, and severely undermined morale.
“It is both ironic and deeply insensitive for those associated with that era to seek a return to power without first acknowledging their failings,” Olajengbesi stated.
“The APC must tender an unreserved apology to the civil servants of Osun State before seeking to re-engage the electorate. Accountability must precede ambition.”
The statement praised Governor Adeleke’s administration for restoring dignity to governance, prioritising workers’ welfare, and rebuilding public trust.

It emphasised that Osun voters are discerning and will base their decisions on verifiable records of performance rather than political rhetoric.
Olajengbesi concluded that the future of Osun State should not be entrusted to a party whose past nearly compromised the state’s progress, urging citizens to choose continued advancement over regression.
The demand comes amid heightened political activities as parties prepare for the off-cycle governorship election scheduled for 2026.
