Board Inspects Zamfara Airport Clinic, Lauds Gov Lawal

The Zamfara State Hospital Services Management Board (HSMB) has inspected the clinic at Gusau International Airport as part of assessment visits healthcare facilities in the state.

At the Airport Clinic, the team checked the availability of essential equipment and urged the health personnal deployed to the Airport Clinic to follow approved standards and procedures.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Mustapha Abdulkadir Marafa, reviewed the clinic’s operations during the inspection. He stressed the need for professionalism, efficiency and quick response to medical emergencies, especially in an airport setting.

Marafa also highlighted the role of reliable transport infrastructure in improving access to health care, particularly during emergencies that require fast patient movement or outreach services.

The visit, he said, is part of the state government’s plan to link health care development with ongoing infrastructure projects.

Speaking during the visit, the Managing Director of Gusau International Airport, Alhaji Kabiru Yahaya, said the safety and well-being of passengers and staff are key to smooth airport operations and effective health service delivery.

He added that the airport management is ready to work closely with the health sector to ensure better services for residents of Zamfara State and others.

The board reaffirmed its commitment to improving health care through partnerships and continuous staff development.
