Charles Inojie Opens Up About Childhood Rejection

Nollywood actor Charles Inojie has shared emotional details about his upbringing and the difficult relationship he had with his father and stepmother.
Speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the comic actor revealed that he lived with his biological father for only 8 months. He described that period as being filled with constant conflict due to his stepmother’s hostility.
“In all my life, I’ve only lived with my father for eight months as his child. From the moment I moved in, it was trouble every single day. My stepmother told my father to choose between her and me, and he chose her,” Inojie said.
The filmmaker also alleged that his stepmother tried to block his path to higher education. He claimed she insisted he should delay his university studies until her own child was old enough to attend with him, despite the significant age gap.
“When I finally got admission into the university, she insisted I should wait for her own child to grow so we could attend together a child I’m 18 years older than,” he added.
Despite these early life challenges and the rejection he faced, Inojie expressed that he has chosen to maintain a sense of love for his father.
