EPL: Rosenior told only condition to remain as Chelsea manager

Former Premier League player and manager, Glenn Hoddle is of the opinion that Chelsea will retain Liam Rosenior as their manager for the upcoming season, rather than dismissing him.
On Saturday night, Chelsea experienced their fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, with Manchester United securing a 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.
This outcome positions Chelsea sixth in the Premier League standings, and they will find themselves seven points adrift of fifth-placed Liverpool if Liverpool triumphs over Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday.
Rosenior took over from Enzo Maresca as manager in January, yet the 41-year-old is already encountering demands from certain Chelsea fans for his dismissal.
Nevertheless, Hoddle believes that his former club will maintain their confidence in Rosenior throughout the summer, although he cautions that a managerial change may occur if the team begins the next season poorly.
“They’re in a really sticky position,” Hoddle said on Premier League Productions.
“In my view, for Liam to retain his position until the end of the season, I believe they will provide him that opportunity, but he must conclude the season positively and secure some victories.
“The rationale behind his appointment is that he is a young manager who is integral to their ongoing project, if you will, and I think they will afford him that chance.
“However, he must begin to achieve wins; even if they do not qualify for the Champions League, they are still in the FA Cup semi-final, which means they have the potential to win a trophy.
“I believe they will continue with him, granting him a pre-season, and I expect they will start the next season with him, but he must initiate the season positively; otherwise, he may find himself in a precarious situation.”
