Fresh fear in Kogi as gunmen abduct two residents days after pastor’s family kidnap

Fresh tension has gripped residents of Okoloke community in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State after suspected gunmen returned to the area and abducted two residents, barely days after kidnapping members of a pastor’s family.
The latest attack reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, when the assailants stormed the community, firing gunshots to create panic before taking away their victims to an unknown destination.
A local resident, identified as Musa Adeyemi, was quoted as saying that the attackers operated for several minutes without interruption.
“We are no longer safe in this community. They came back again after taking the pastor’s family, and now two more people have been kidnapped. Everyone is living in fear,” he said.
Mrs. Kemi Ojo, a resident, said many residents have begun fleeing the area.
“People are packing out because nobody knows who will be next. We are begging the government to help us,” she pleaded.
Kogi State Police Command, SP William Ovye Aya, has confirmed the incident.
