Iran warns of response, sees Trump ceasefire extension as tactic

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has said the country’s forces are on full alert following US threats.

State TV quoted the headquarters’ spokesperson as saying “Iran‘s forces are 100 per cent ready with fingers on the trigger,” in light of US threats.

He added that any aggression against Iran will trigger instant, powerful strikes on pre-determined targets.

Meanwhile, Mehdi Mohammadi, an adviser to the Iranian parliament speaker, dismissed Trump’s ceasefire extension as “meaningless,” characterising the move as a calculated manoeuvre to buy time for a surprise strike.

Mohammadi said that a losing side cannot impose its terms, adding that the continuation of the blockade is no different from bombardment and should be met with a military response. He added that the time has come for Iran to take the initiative.
