Two Israeli Air Force personnel have been arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran, Israeli media reported Friday, citing a military official.
According to Hebrew-language broadcaster i24 News, the head of the criminal investigations division of the military police, Lee Ayash, said the suspects have been in custody for about a month while an investigation is underway.
Ayash said there are suspicions that Iranian intelligence operatives recruited the soldiers and exploited their positions to access sensitive information related to military systems, sites and high-ranking figures.
The report suggested the case may extend beyond the two suspects, pointing to a broader network.
It noted that additional arrests had been made in earlier stages of the investigation, including personnel from sensitive units such as air defense.

Indictments are expected to be filed against the suspects in the coming days and may include serious charges such as aiding an enemy during wartime, according to the same source.
An unnamed military official was also quoted as saying the security establishment would take âstrict measuresâ in response to the case.
The arrests are not the first since tensions escalated between Israel and Iran following the outbreak of hostilities in late February.
On March 20, Israeli police announced the arrest of a reserve soldier working within the Iron Dome air defense system on suspicion of spying for Iran.
The developments come as Washington and Tehran are expected to resume negotiations aimed at halting the war, after an initial round of talks in Islamabad on April 12 failed to yield results.
A temporary two-week ceasefire began April 8 to facilitate efforts toward a permanent truce.
