JUST IN: DSS arraigns El-Rufai for ‘wiretapping’ NSA Ribadu’s phone

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna state over allegations of unlawfully intercepting a telephone conversation involving Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser.
El-Rufai was brought before a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday under tight security, where he is facing an amended five-count charge filed by the prosecution.
At the start of proceedings, counsel to the DSS informed the court that the charges had been expanded from three to five counts, signalling a deepening of the case against the former minister.
The allegations centre on claims that El-Rufai unlawfully accessed or intercepted a private communication linked to Ribadu, though full details of the charges were yet to be outlined in open court at the time of filing this report.
