Killing in Ondo: Police Assure Ilado Residents of Tougher Security Clampdown

The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Adebowale Lawal, has reassured residents of Ilado community in Akure North Local Government Area of intensified security measures following the killing of a man by suspected gunmen.
CP Lawal gave the assurance during an on-the-spot assessment visit to the troubled community, where he led a team of senior officers to evaluate the situation and interact with residents.
Describing the incident as both unfortunate and unacceptable, the police chief stressed that efforts are already in motion to track down the perpetrators and ensure they face justice.
He called on community members to collaborate with security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could aid investigations and help prevent further attacks.
The commissioner also revealed that tactical teams have been deployed to Ilado and neighbouring areas to reinforce security presence, reassure residents, and deter criminal activities. He added that the command is working in synergy with other security agencies to restore normalcy and safeguard lives and property.
