Superstar singer and entrepreneur Akon has sparked debate after stating that his life felt easier when he was involved in romantic relationships with multiple women, reigniting conversations around polygamy.
Akon made the remark during an interview with The Shade Room, where he reflected on his past relationships and his current personal life.
He admitted that he experienced more comfort during that period, suggesting it was less demanding than being in a monogamous relationship.
According to him, having multiple partners reduced pressure and made life feel more manageable.
“My life was very much easier when I had multiple women surrounding me, but me being with just one woman is a lot harder,” he said.
However, when asked about his present relationship status and how many women he is currently involved with, the singer declined to give a direct answer.
Akon sidestepped the question with a humorous response, saying, “I plead the fifth; it will be incriminating to answer.”
