NEMA Distributes Relief Materials to Victims of Fire Disaster in Anambra South

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has flagged off the direct distribution of relief materials to persons affected by fire disasters in various communities across Anambra South Senatorial District of Anambra State.

The distribution exercise was carried out by the NEMA Enugu Operations Office in collaboration with the Nigerian Red Cross Society to ensure transparency and equitable delivery of the relief items. The event took place in Ozubulu community, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

The Head of NEMA Enugu Operations Office, Mrs. Ngozi Echeazu, who was represented by Mrs. Shantel Chukwu, conveyed the sympathy of the Federal Government and the Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, to the affected persons over the loss of their properties and means of livelihood.

In his remarks, Senator Emma Nwachukwu commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and the Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, for their concern and support to disaster victims. He described NEMA’s prompt response and timely intervention as a reflection of the Agency’s commitment, dedication, and humanitarian service. He also advised beneficiaries to conduct themselves in an orderly manner to ensure fairness and transparency during the distribution process.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and NEMA for the timely support provided during their time of need.
