Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, for allegedly killing two persons and injuring three others in a violent attack at Olámbe area of Ogun State.
According to police reports, the suspect reportedly launched the knife attack in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 1:38 a.m., following frustration linked to failed business dealings. The victims were said to have been trying to calm him down before the situation escalated.
Two victims — Gbadamasi Ibrahim (25) and Chinedu (40) — sustained fatal injuries and were confirmed dead by medical personnel while being rushed to the hospital.
Three other victims — Mohammed Abubakar (35), Ashiru Adamu (25), and Paul Lawrence (25) — survived the attack and are currently receiving treatment, with reports indicating they are responding to medical care.
Police detectives from the Ajuwon Division swiftly tracked down and arrested the suspect after he fled the scene. He is now in custody, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the brutal act and assured the public that justice will be pursued diligently. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious or violent activities to law enforcement authorities.
