American actress and Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kenya Summer Moore had people talking in Atlanta after a video surfaced online showing her hair salon equipment being put out on the street.
The actress and entrepreneur, who was on holiday with her daughter, addressed the incident hours after the eviction.
Moore took to the official Kenya Moore Hair Spa Instagram page to share a statement, along with a video clip of herself and her daughter, Brooklyn, enjoying their vacation.
She said, “I have spent the last several weeks moving out of my salon as a result of my ongoing legal battle with the landlord who has failed to reimburse me nearly $80k of improvement funds I am rightfully owed.”
She noted that her “only recourse” was to “withhold rent and file a countersuit.”
The 55-year-old thanked all the women and men who came in and supported her, adding that, “This salon chapter is closing, trust me, it’s not the end. It’s just the beginning of a new era. Stay tuned for what’s next!”
