Retired policemen in Nigeria have staged a protest at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, voicing deep frustration over what they described as poor welfare and inadequate pension payments.

The protesters accused authorities, including the National Pension Commission (PenCom), of failing to prioritize the wellbeing of officers who served the country for decades.

Speaking during the protest, one of the retirees expressed anger over what he called unfair treatment and financial disparity.

“They’re feeding fat on the sweat of the police, the least worker in Pencom receives 2.5 million, and it’s our money. Our people are kp@ing daily, no money to take care of them. Imagine paying CSP who served Nigerian police for 35 years 3million Naira, what kind of money is that? It is ev!l against human!ty.”

The protest has since drawn attention online, with many Nigerians calling for urgent reforms to improve the welfare of retired officers.
