Troops kill two terrorists in Borno ambush operation

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have killed two suspected terrorists during a night ambush in Borno State.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the operation was carried out by troops of B Company, 144 Battalion (Motorised) on Saturday at about 8:45 p.m. in the Kaffin Hausa area.
Security sources said the troops had laid an ambush as part of ongoing counter-insurgency efforts when they came in contact with the terrorists, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire.
âAt the end of the engagement, two terrorists were neutralised while others escaped with gunshot wounds,â the source said.
The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles from the scene of the encounter.
No casualties were recorded among the soldiers, although a wounded individual of unknown identity was noticed during the operation.
Military authorities said troops are in search of the area to track down fleeing members of the group and gather more intelligence.
