The United Arab Emirates (UAE) plans to shift 50 per cent of government sectors and services to self-executing artificial intelligence (AI) models within two years.
This was announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in a statement posted on the social media platform X on Thursday.
He said: “Under the directives of the President of the UAE, we launch a new government model. Within two years, 50 per cent of government sectors, services, and operations will run on Agentic AI.”
Sheikh Mohammed added that the UAE government “will be the first government globally to operate at this scale through autonomous systems.”
He also said that “AI is no longer a tool. It analyses, decides, executes, and improves in real time. It will become our executive partner to enhance services, accelerate decisions, and raise efficiency.”
The statement said the transformation would follow a clear two-year timeline, with government performance to be assessed based on the speed of adoption, the quality of implementation, and the extent of mastery of AI in redesigning government work.
