Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged Nigerians to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next elections, noting that it is a way to secure a better future for the country.
Atiku, who is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made this statement in an interview on Arise News on Wednesday.

His comments suggested that Nigeria may face serious problems if the APC remains in power. He said Nigerians must make a clear choice during elections if they want change and progress.
He said, “My final message is that they should vote out the APC if they want a future. If they don’t, it’s going to be a disaster. I don’t see a pathway to a brighter future for Nigeria in the APC.”

Atiku also criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu. He described it as the worst government he has seen and said he felt very disappointed with its performance. According to him, many things are not working well in the country.
Speaking on leadership, he said experience is important. He explained that young leaders need guidance from older and more experienced people.
He said he gained valuable knowledge while serving under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, adding that such experience helped him understand governance better.
On opposition politics, Atiku said he earlier advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to form a strong coalition after losing the last election.
He said the party did not accept his advice at the time but now faces the same challenge he warned about.
He raised concerns about Nigeria’s democratic system. He said there is a need to strengthen institutions and ensure proper separation of powers.
Atiku noted that some institutions meant to check the presidency are no longer independent, which he described as dangerous.
On the ADC coalition, Atiku said the group would first try to agree on a consensus candidate. He added that if that fails, a direct election would be held.
He said he is ready to step aside for any candidate who wins, including Peter Obi.
He also spoke on security, saying it would be his top priority if elected. He said no country can grow without safety.
He called for more recruitment, better training, improved equipment, and proper welfare for the armed forces.
Atiku denied corruption allegations against him. He said past claims were investigated but not proven.
He insisted that Nigeria needs strong leadership and urgent action, and urged voters to remove the APC if they want a better future.
