WAEC Nigeria 2026 Recruitment for Multiple Vacancies at National Office

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), one of the foremost examination bodies in West Africa, has announced fresh recruitment opportunities for qualified Nigerians to fill several vacant positions at its Nigeria National Office.

According to the official vacancy notice published by the Council, applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who meet the educational and professional requirements for the listed roles. The recruitment exercise is part of WAEC’s effort to strengthen its workforce and improve operational efficiency in the conduct of examinations across the country.

WAEC is a sub-regional organisation responsible for conducting major examinations in English-speaking West African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia.

Examinations Officer Cadre

  • Examinations Officer (General Duties)
  • Examinations Officer (Accounts)
  • Examinations Officer (Information and Communication Technology)

Administrative and Secretarial Cadre

  • Confidential Secretary II
  • Confidential Secretary V

Assistant Examinations Officer Cadre

  • Assistant Examinations Officer III (General Duties)
  • Assistant Examinations Officer III (Accounts)
  • Assistant Examinations Officer III (Information and Communication Technology)
  • Assistant Examinations Officer III (Audit)

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants are expected to possess relevant academic qualifications depending on the role applied for.

For officer-level positions, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant disciplines from recognised institutions.

For assistant officer roles, National Diploma (ND), NCE, or equivalent qualifications are accepted in specified fields.

All applicants must also satisfy the following general requirements:

  • Must possess five credits in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE including English Language and Mathematics in one sitting, or six credits in not more than two sittings
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must not be more than 40 years old at the close of application
  • NYSC discharge/exemption certificate is required where applicable

Professional certifications relevant to the applied role will be considered an added advantage.
