APC Members Affirm Gov Bago As Niger Guber Candidate

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has secured the APC gubernatorial ticket for a second term through affirmation.
The affirmation was held at the party’s secretariat in Minna yesterday.
The governor emerged unopposed after APC card-carrying members from all 277 wards across the state unanimously endorsed him as their sole candidate for next year’s governorship election.
Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee, Alhaji Danladi Abubakar Mohammed, said the committee was sent by the APC national headquarters to conduct the primary.
A motion was moved for the adoption of
Governor Bago by Senator Mohammed Sani Musa.
He moved that having met the requirements of the party constitution and affirmed by members from the 277 wards in the state he should emerge as the candidate and it was seconded by the House of Assembly member representing Gurara, Afiniki Dauda.
Bago in his response said the affirmation symbolised a lot to him as it had shown the bond between him and the people and promised not to take them for granted.
