Cross River PDP Endorses Sandy Onor’s Presidential Candidacy

The Cross River State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared Prof. Sandy Onor as its preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

The decision came after a statewide consensus exercise involving all registered party members.

The affirmation process covered the 196 wards across the three senatorial districts of the state, with 8,841 registered voters accredited and participating in the exercise.

Announcing the result, the state officer, Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong, stated that Onor received unanimous support from delegates at the ward level.

“The exercise is concluded,” Archibong said. “We affirm that the Cross River PDP and over 8,000 accredited members back Prof. Sandy Onor as our presidential candidate.”

The motion for adoption was moved by the party secretary, Joe Obi Bisong, and seconded by Austin Okon, the chapter chairman for Akpabuyo Local Government Area.

Earlier, the Cross River PDP State Chairman, Venatius Ikem, described the endorsement as a turning point for the party in the state.

Ikem stated that the affirmation of Senator Onor as the PDP presidential candidate signals renewed direction and unity within the chapter.

Ikem expressed confidence in the party’s readiness for the 2027 elections.

“The party is ready for the elections, and those who underestimate our candidates will be surprised,” he added.
