Eid-El-Kabir: Nigerian Cancer Society Prays For Cancer Patients, Calls For Compassion

President and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Cancer Society, Prof. Abidemi Omonisi, has called on Nigerians to show love, compassion and support to cancer patients and other vulnerable persons as Muslims across the world celebrate Eid El-Kabir.
In his Eid El-Kabir message, Prof. Omonisi said the celebration symbolises sacrifice, faith, obedience and compassion, urging Nigerians to embrace the spirit of selflessness and care for one another.
According to him, the lessons of the season also reflect the daily struggles and sacrifices of cancer patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and advocates working tirelessly in the fight against the disease.
“As we reflect on the profound lessons attached to this holy season, we are reminded of the courage and sacrifices demonstrated daily by cancer patients battling the disease with strength and hope,” he said.
The Nigerian Cancer Society boss offered prayers for cancer patients across Nigeria and beyond, asking God to grant them healing, renewed strength, comfort and hope.
He also prayed for cancer survivors to continue living in good health, while seeking divine comfort for families who have lost loved ones to the disease.
Prof. Omonisi further commended caregivers, doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, volunteers, donors and development partners for their dedication and sacrifices in supporting cancer patients and advancing cancer awareness.
He urged Nigerians to use the Eid celebration to promote unity, kindness and support for vulnerable members of society.
“As Eid El-Kabir teaches us the values of sacrifice, sharing, unity and compassion, let us continue to uplift one another and collectively work toward building a healthier and cancer-free society,” he stated.
The cancer society president also prayed for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria, while wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyful Eid celebration.
“May Almighty Allah accept our prayers and sacrifices, bless our homes with peace and joy, and continue to guide our nation toward progress and prosperity,” he added.
