EPL: Mikel Arteta tells Arsenal board to sign Chelsea, Man Utd target

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has told the club’s board to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa this summer.
According to talkSPORT, Arteta is keen to bolster his squad in the summer transfer window and has already informed Arsenal to enter the race for in-demand Rogers, who is attracting interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Spaniard is said to be ‘leading the drive’ to try to secure the England midfielder’s signature ahead of Chelsea and Man United, and would see his arrival at the Emirates Stadium as a ‘statement of intent’ after Arsenal’s title win this season.
The report added that Arsenal have held ‘preliminary’ talks with Rogers’ representatives as they look to bring the 23-year-old star to the Premier League North London club.
Rodgers has been impressive for Aston Villa this season as he helped Unai Emery’s side to win the UEFA Europa League and also qualify for the Champions League for next season.
