Hollywood Actor Djimon Hounsou In Custody Battle With Ex-Partner

Hollywood actor, Djimon Hounsou, has dragged his former partner, Ri’za Marie Simpson, to court over the custody of their two young children and financial support.

According to court documents, the Gladiator star filed legal papers seeking joint legal and physical custody of their son, born in 2022, and their daughter, born in 2023.

In her response, Simpson agreed to share legal custody but asked the court for primary physical custody of the children, pointing to their different work and travel schedules. She also requested child support, stating that their separation had caused a major strain on her finances.

The custody battle comes months after a serious domestic dispute between the former couple. In December, the Beninese-American actor called the police in Atlanta, claiming that Simpson hit him in the face during an argument. Simpson was subsequently arrested on charges of simple assault and obstruction.

Following the arrest, Simpson briefly obtained a temporary restraining order against the actor, but she later dropped it after both parties reached a private agreement.
