I Was Stereotyped After Losing My Father At 16 — Shine Rosman

Nollywood actress, Shine Rosman, has opened up on her past struggles, saying people predicted she would end up as a prostitute after her father died when she was 16 years old.

Speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the movie star explained that losing her father was very painful and drove her into deep sadness and thoughts of suicide.

She noted that during her grief and the financial hardship that followed, many people lost hope in her and claimed she would get pregnant out of wedlock because she no longer had a father.

“After I lost my dad at 16, many people said to me that I would end up becoming a prostitute and get pregnant out of wedlock. Grief can drive you to a point of suicide because grief is probably one of the hardest things to overcome,” Rosman said.

The actress, however, explained that she used the tough times and negative comments as motivation to succeed in life.

She added that her difficult background helped her build the strength to work out hard every day, noting that she might not have been this ambitious if she had grown up in a comfortable home.
