Following the outcome of the House of Representatives and Senate primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State, some aspirants have alleged that the entire process lacked transparency.
The aspirant for Magama/Rijau federal constituency of Niger State, Shehu Samaila Auna alleged the imposition of the winner from their constituency through consensus.
In a statement made available to journalists in Minna, he described the process as “a unilateral decision that does not reflect the collective will of the people of the constituency and should be discarded ”
Auna therefore called on the National Working Committee (NWC) and the State Executive Committee of the APC to set aside the unilateral choice.
Also the supporters of Ambassador Nma Abubakar alleged poor conduct of the primary elections for Chanchaga Federal Constituency that produced Adamu Abubakar as the candidate.
Also in Lapai/Agaie federal constituency, an aspirant Mauwiya Muye, rejected the outcome of the direct primary conducted in the constituency stating that the outcome did not reflect the vote cast and in some areas voting did not take place .
Meanwhile the outcome of the direct Primary conducted on Monday to produce the candidate for Niger South senate candidate of the party was yet to be concluded even as some of the aspirants alleged that election did not take place in most wards.
