Oyo APC Leaders End Speculation, Present Alli To Tinubu

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have formally presented Senator Sharafadeen Alli to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s governorship candidate, effectively ending months of speculation over who would fly the party’s flag in the state.
The delegation to the President was led by former Oyo State deputy governor and Oyo APC chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, alongside another former deputy governor, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, and former senator representing Oyo Central, Senator Ayoade Adeseun.
Other members of the delegation included APC leader Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, the party’s National Deputy Auditor, Mr. Gbenga Olayemi, and Mr. Soji Adedeji.
The APC leaders also used the occasion to introduce the party’s senatorial candidates to the President as part of efforts to demonstrate the party’s preparedness, cohesion and readiness for future electoral contests in the state.
Those presented were Hon. Remi Oseni for Oyo South Senatorial District, Senator Yunus Akintunde for Oyo Central Senatorial District and Chief (Mrs.) Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North Senatorial District.
The presentation underscored the party’s confidence in Alli’s candidacy and signalled a united front among key APC stakeholders in Oyo State.
Political observers view the move as a significant step towards consolidating support within the party ahead of the next governorship election, while also projecting an image of unity among the party’s leadership in the state.
The development is expected to strengthen the APC’s preparations as it seeks to reclaim power in Oyo State, with party leaders presenting a common front around Alli’s candidacy and the broader electoral strategy for the state.
